Wrapped in the blanket of ignorance, and tightly bound with the cord of stupidity, you foolishly believe that the crass language used to illuminate your attitude toward women, and your personal sexual manifesto, should be a readily accepted and much welcomed musical proclamation. Many are the stomachs that churn in agony from the garbage  injested through their disgusted ears. But with a defiant smurk and careless quip, you offer a great remedy by saying “If you don’t like it,don’t listen”! So goes, free speech and freedom of expression ! After all, some of your peers, role models, and heros are giving it their blessings, by supporting the very columns of degradation which provides cover and shade for those so disposed to create and magnify negative images of what should otherwise be a proud and respectable culture.

So you rationalize, how at the very least, it would be a good way for you to make enough money to buy several pairs of different colored tennis shoes. A gold plated chain and cross to hang around your neck. Some trousers which are four times too large. An almost new car with chariot sized wheels on it. Perhaps a few magnums of expensive champange to swill from the bottle, while popping pills, smoking weed, crack, and black cigars. LET’S PARTY ! FREAKS EVERYWHERE ! MARY JANE IN THE AIR ! BE THERE OR BE SQUARE !

Well for sure, we know that there are some rather dim sighted, impressionable girls, and young women that do not know the difference between being cool, fly, and hip, or suffering from acute low self esteem. There are some who with only the slightest coercion or suggestion, that will follow the flash of perceived acceptance, and offer themselves as sacrifices to be the fulcrum of bump and grind debasement. But of course, you do as much as you can to contribute to her  downward spiral. Why would you want to speak with her on matters of maintaining her integrity and upright character, when she is not  your very own blood sister?  So then, your libido for lasciviousness becomes the claptrap of the most verbose rhetoric you can conjure for the purpose of making yourself  what you think to be a way-cool player, a true thug, a real gangsta. Man o man, you have really got your swag on ! Even so, just because a sister is at a party or club having fun and happens to shake her tail feathers, does not mean that she wants to go any further than that. Having fun does not equate to being a bitch,slut,or whore.

Certainly, I do think that every man should have the right to choose and travel down his own road to perdition or paradise. But make no mistake about it, and know without doubt that I do vehemmently oppose the license  granted which allows an individual to perform and broadcast by any means, in a manner which blankets and suggests to the general public that all  my sisters are  bitches, sluts, wayward wenches, or wanton whores. Think about what an outrage it was to you, when Don Imus made deplorable remarks about the Rutgers Univ. womens basketball team. Something tells me that smoke came from your nostrils in anger.

I am not so foolish to think and believe that there are no sisters in the whole wide world which certain terms, could perhaps be used to illustrate their personal faults or shortcomings. But discretion in such matters is far more likely to provide better harmony,  than would be the use of a bullhorn which is being blown by a viper. However thug guy, even  if  the intent was not meant as a blanket, the results has created a sheet which was woven with the thread of your own silly string and has now been spread over  the mattrest  of all terra firma. Damage control and recovery must now be instituted as daily standing orders. In my opinon, those of you who spew such dysgenic poetry  have no pride or respect for yourselves, your brothers, and certainly not for your sisters. I personally feel that you should be monitored and censured for every flub of the tongue, just as Imus and others have been.  It does seem to me that within our ranks the Kiss and Thirty pieces of Silver is replaying  it’s self again and again on many and various platforms.

But think you not, that I want to give the impression that I am squeaky clean. Truth is, I have been so deep in depravity that I was affected with the “Raptures Of The Deep, and when I re-surfaced suffered with a near fatal case of The Bends.  As the saying goes,”I’ve been there and done that”, it’s just that I did not choose to buy the T-shirt.

Nevertheless as forementioned, I am tired of the bull, and am totally pissed at  those of you who continue to use my sisters as the cisterns of your most vile spit. You shall no longer with impunity be allowed to rap in un-mitigated vulgarity directed towards them. I strongly suggest that you find yourself another game. Or better yet, seek for yourselves a vehicle that will transport you to worthwhile and appreciable goals. Should you not have been counseled in the ways of manhood, come to know with much haste the meaning of respect, and how it should be applied in your daily life, beginning with yourself. Know that with age comes wisdom. Pray that you live long enough to receive it and prosper therefrom.

Now let your mind expand beyond it’s self  imposed restricted areas, and allow it to penertrate the barrier of time. There you will see the many ghosts of  Christmas Past. I suggest that you acknowledge them with disdain, and no longer use them as a crutch or a scapegoat for your rankled behavior.

Now look  deeper  still into the abyss. Let your eyes see the events unfolded pass  the Catacombs  Of  Infinity. See how I was called to stand in The Great Hall Of  The High Priests. On that day I was given a parchment to study, which would take many decades to read. In it’s contents, were answers to many of the mysteries and questions of the cosmos. See how a golden pair of talaria were laced on my feet. A  lyre was placed in my left hand. A quill was set behind my right ear. A double edged sword, shaped like a lightning bolt was strapped to my waist. See the fractured laurel being placed upon my head. Look you there, and see the bittersweet pill I was given to swallow without any liquid. See the pagentry of it all. See  how I took an oath, knelled before the assembly, had a key to the universe hung around my neck,  and was ordained,        THUR-MAN. Corpus Totus.  Vice- Lord Protector.   Keeper Of The Sisters.

But even if it was just a dream,now you are better able to see and understand my attitude and position. How I finally reached a point in the parchment which explained and outlined my duties. Now that I have done so,  I say again, you are in deep do do my brother. Be advised that the manure you create to fling at my sisters, is the very same that you will have to eat if it does harm, damage, or causes undeserved stress  to even the least of them, for they are the egg and blood of us all. 

Return you now from the abyss, and do the right thing. For they now  have the power and authority to  strip you naked, and drive you from the family riding on a rail. Certainly, I do not mean Amtrak. Think not on this as being boastful or an idle threat. Let your thoughts be  on your own salvation and on your placement on The Tree Of  Life. You yet have a choice to make, so choose wisely.

 The pylons and obelisks of the future have already been erected but not yet etched .Your fate and destiny shall be determined by a higher power, based upon the service that you give. Even so,the word of fear,flies from me like a bat from a burning bush, for I am on a providential mission that is closing out the profane lyrical era of which you are a part of. Now my sisters are waiting for your response and apology. It would not be wise to cause them shame. It would not be wise  to take them for  fools. Certainly, it would not be wise to piss them off even half as much as I am now. Be it understood, that I am only required to give you but one warning. Now know and take heed that————

Don’t be misled by the grandscale and vast legacy of Egypt’s legendary leaders—- from Ramses to Cleopatra, to Mehmet Ali.

Walk through the Museum of Egyptian antiquities – the one in Cairo’s Tahrir Square that was briefly attacked during the recent Egyptian unrest – and you can be overwhelmed. Room after room is filled with ceiling-high shelves jammed with amulets, jars, effigies, statues, and hundreds of thousands more pharaonic-era pieces. 

Egypt is a time tunnel of human habitation. In the space of a few miles you can be transported from a swank, 21st-century hotel to a dusty Mameluke-era mosque to a 5,000-year-old temple to the sun god. Humans have lived on the narrow ribbon of green that the Nile bisects since before hieroglyphics were around to tell their story.

It is tempting to think of Egypt as the land of Akhenaten, Cleopatra, Tutankhamen, Mehemet Ali, and Napoleon. More remarkable than the treasures and legends they left behind, however, is the continuity of Egyptian society, the patience and organization that nameless generations of Egyptians needed to apportion the Nile’s water and live side by side on its banks.

Nowhere is that millenniums-old social compact more evident than at Tahrir Square, the vast open space at the center of downtown Cairo that most days teems with business people, students, peasants in simple galabias, women in smart dresses, others camouflaged in black abayas, buses overflowing with passengers, trams, vans, sparkling Mercedes, banged-up clunkers, donkey carts, and bicycles laden with two or more riders – an amiable chaos softened by an ever-present aerosol of desert sand.

A thousand small disputes and as many spontaneous smiles erupt every minute in Tahrir Square. Horns honk in consternation. Friends walk hand in hand. The overwhelming feeling is of a great mass of humanity living and letting live.



The Egyptian novelist Naguib Mahfouz, who made his way to the square every morning for breakfast, once was asked why he didn’t have heroes in his writing. Because he believed in the dignity of ordinary Egyptians, he said. All they wanted, he believed, was freedom – “Freedom from colonization, freedom from the absolute rule of a king, and basic human freedom in the context of society and the family.”

Tahrir means freedom. To the Nobel laureate, freedom wasn’t individuals rocketing off on solo journeys of self-discovery. Freedom came with society and family, continuity and context. For a closer look at the epochal struggle for freedom in Egypt and beyond, see this special report in the Monitor.

BEIJING, Jan. 25 (Xinhuanet) — China and Japan should seek strategic trust to capitalize on the mutual benefits offered by further cooperation.

Last year was a difficult one for Sino-Japanese relations. The strategic framework in East Asia developed two increasingly distinct features - China’s peaceful rise and the United States’ “return to Asia” - that, to a large extent, led to a shift in the Democratic Party of Japan’s China policy.

By holding joint military exercises with the U.S., Prime Minister Naoto Kan’s government focused attention on the U.S.-Japan alliance. Japan wants to assert a high-profile role in East Asia by virtue of the U.S. presence.

The U.S. plays a significant role in shaping China-Japan ties because of the existence of the U.S.-Japan alliance. The nub of the problem between U.S. and Japan is whether their alliance should continue, and if it does, how it should be maintained.

Japan’s strategic misgivings toward China not only play a negative role in stabilizing bilateral relations, but also prove that Japan does not believe in China’s commitment to peaceful development. Japan’s new “National Defense Program Outline”, adopted in December 2010, and its medium-term defense plan reveal its wariness of China.

However, Japan still has the edge over China in terms of maritime strength, not least high-tech naval vessels and aircraft carrier manufacturing capabilities. Unduly exaggerating China’s military power and playing up China as a potential threat only distorts China-Japan relations.

Whether China’s rise presents any military threat also depends on whether China has the will and the capability. Well, the answer is clear-cut - China has neither the will nor sufficient strength. Peace and development are China’s principles and strategic objectives. China’s efforts are concentrated on economic construction and social development.

Although China’s GDP is the world’s second largest, its huge economic size doesn’t mean competitiveness or military might. China still lags far behind the U.S. in its economy, military and soft power. Compared to Japan’s 42-year run as the world’s second largest economy, China has yet to stand the test of endurance.

Undeniably, a major problem facing China’s diplomacy is how to balance its rising economic influence with strategic planning. China should maintain sufficient military strength so as to guarantee domestic economic development and external trade security. Since military “isolation” is prone to arouse suspicion and mistrust from the outside world, China should establish two-way military openness and strategic trust with neighboring countries.

So the crux of the matter is which kind of bilateral relationship do China and Japan want to forge, antagonistic or cooperative?

Bilateral mutual strategic trust is the basis for mutually beneficial relations. As close neighbors, neither China nor Japan can ignore each other and the development of both needs a stable surrounding environment. But the increasingly close economic ties have not yet brought deepened mutual trust.

Any issues or disputes that arise should be properly handled in a timely manner through mature diplomatic channels to prevent them being overwhelmed or distorted by public sentiments. Political leaders in particular should be discreet in both word and deed. Both countries should conduct swift dialogue and consultation in case of emergencies concerning the disputed Diaoyu Islands and maritime delimitation.

Meanwhile, the two sides should establish communication and crisis management mechanisms to respond to emergencies and ensure the normal operation of these mechanisms.

Japan should pay more attention to the opportunities that China can provide during its 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015). So far, no country in history has sustained non-stop high-speed growth. China cannot enjoy its current economic momentum forever, so Japan should seize the opportunity of China’s market demand.

Compared to the effects of Japan’s rapid growth, China still has a lot to do. After getting rich, Japan’s economic growth slowed down and its population grew old. Most of Japan’s wealth is in the hands of its people, and its overseas net assets exceed 50 percent of its GDP. Though growing slowly, Japan’s environmentally friendly growth model is worth learning.

The environmental cost of China’s rapid GDP growth is enormous and fast growth is not everything. What Japan has lost is not capability, but direction and dynamic. Increased cooperation between China and Japan has great potential and could result in real benefits for both countries.

Chad is a merchant seaman, and is often away for two or three months at a time. His girlfriend’s name is Barbie. She works at a local hospital as a technician. It would be easy for some guys to think of her as being what is sometimes called a high maintenance type of woman. One which is oftentimes attracted to men of means. Frankly, I wondered why she had not hooked up with one of the very well to do doctors that worked at the hospital. However, after a couple of months of dating, she decided to move in with Chad. They seemed to be so happy together, and soon I became sure that Chad’s playboy lifestyle had come to an end.

But now, as revealed by Chad, there is trouble in paradise. One week ago, Chad returned home from a short working voyage up coast, and walked in on his beloved Barbie while she was making love with a woman in their bed. Barbie was so engrossed in a compromising position with her lover, that she never heard Chad enter the house or open the door to the bedroom. In heart wrenching surprise and excitement, he stood and watched them for a minute or so without saying a word. Deep within himself, Chad felt betrayed. He was angry and hurt. But deeper still, he became sexually aroused. When the two women noticed him, Barbie said that she was sorry, but that Chad just did not understand how circumstances had brought her to such an evening. The other woman also apologized, saying it was something that just kinda happened, then she went into the bathroom. Chad could not find words to say anything, so he just stared at Barbie’s lovely face and body while his heart beat rapidly, then he walked out of the house with Barbie calling after him.

Since that time, things have been rather un-easy at Chad’s house, but no harsh words have passed between them. He has not yet had sex with his woman again, although she has made herself totally available to him. Now he tells me, that on the one hand he wants  very much to make love to her, but on the other hand his thoughts are about ending their relationship, because he is sure that she will do it again. If not there, certainly somewhere else. Chad says that he is very much in love with Barbie, and now questions  if he should just accept  her lesbian tendencies as a natural thing and allow her to have what she wants without himself being selfish or becoming resentful. He says that he feels if she does cheat, he would rather that she have a little fun from time to time with a woman rather than another man. He now wonders, if he should try to get into the groove with the way that things are and consider himself as being blessed. Afterall, he reasons, most men would pay the ferryman double to have two beautiful women share their bed at the same time.

Chad says, that on the night he walked in on the sordid affair, his plans were to ask Barbie to marry him. Now, he wonders if the fickle finger of fate was giving him a warning, but he does feel that Barbie really loves him also.  Certainly I am not a minister, a psychologist, or a trained counselor.  I have only been able to tell Chad to give honest thought, as to what he thinks life will really be like with Barbie as his wife. Chad doesn’t know who to openly turn to and has asked The World Confidant to post in this regard, in order to help him find certain truths which will ease his troubled mind. Now an invitation  is extended for you to share your thoughts on such a subject. Perhaps you may have knowledge or enlightenment which may help Chad realize the possible consequences from any path that he may choose in dealing with the woman he loves.

Gisela Gonzalez, project head at the Molecular Immunology Center in Havana, said over 1,000 patients on the island have received treatment successfully with the vaccine.

She explained that CIMAVAX-EGF provides patients with the ability to turn the advanced cancer into a “manageable chronic disease”. “CIMAVAX-EGF is the result of over 15 years of research, which does not cause severe side effects,” she said.

“It’s based on a protein that we all have: the epidermal growth factor, related to the processes of cell proliferation, which makes the cancer out of control,” she said

Gonzalez said it was necessary to create “a composition able to generate antibodies against this protein.”

This vaccine is given when the patient finishes the treatment with radiotherapy or chemotherapy, and it is considered a “terminal without alternative therapy” because it helps “to control the growth of the tumor without associated toxicity,” she pointed out.

“CIMAVAX-EGF can also be used as a chronic treatment, which increases the expectations and quality of life for patients,” Gonzalez added.

She concluded that the vaccine is currently being assessed as a therapy against prostate, uterus and breast tumors.

Researchers at the University of California, Riverside applied pomegranate juice on laboratory-cultured prostate cancer cells that were resistant to testosterone, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) said on its website.

The more resistant a cancer cell is to testosterone, the more prone it is to metastasizing, the report explained.

The researchers found that the pomegranate juice-treated tumor cells that had not died with the treatment showed increased cell adhesion (meaning fewer cells breaking away) and decreased cell migration.

Next, the researchers identified the following active groups of ingredients in pomegranate juice that had a molecular impact on cell adhesion and migration in metastatic prostate cancer cells: phenylpropanoids, hydrobenzoic acids, flavones and conjugated fatty acids.

“Having identified them, we can now modify cancer-inhibiting components in pomegranate juice to improve their functions and make them more effective in preventing prostate cancer metastasis, leading to more effective drug therapies,” said lead researcher Manuela Martins-Green.

“Because the genes and proteins involved in the movement of prostate cancer cells are essentially the same as those involved in the movement of other types of cancer cells, the same modified components of the juice could have a much broader impact in cancer treatment.”

Martins-Green explained that an important protein produced in the bone marrow causes the cancer cells to move to the bone where they can then form new tumors.

“We show that pomegranate juice markedly inhibits the function of this protein, and thus this juice has the potential of preventing metastasis of the prostate cancer cells to the bone,” she said.

The finding could lead to new drug therapies to fight cancer, the researchers said.

The researchers plan to do additional tests in an in vivo model for prostate cancer metastasis to determine whether the same cancer-inhibiting components that work in cultured cells can prevent metastasis without side effects, according to the report.

Prostate cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men in the United States. To date, there is no cure for it.
